The 22nd International Leprosy Congress (ILC 2025) was held in Bali, Indonesia, from 7–9 July 2025, hosted under the auspices of the International Leprosy Association.
The Congress was successfully organised by the Indonesian organizing team, with a key role played by PERDOSKI (Indonesian Dermatology and Venereology Association) alongside National health authorities and academic partners. Under the theme “Towards a World with Zero Leprosy,” the Congress emphasized zero transmission, zero disability, and zero discrimination. It brought together over 1,000 participants including researchers, clinicians, program managers, policymakers, advocates, and persons affected by leprosy. Scientific sessions highlighted advances in diagnostics, treatment, prevention, and disability management, alongside operational and implementation research.
The 3rd Global Forum of People’s Organizations on Hansen’s Disease preceded the Congress and ensured strong community perspectives informed the main program.
Overall, ILC 2025 reinforced global collaboration and commitment to accelerating progress toward a leprosy-free world.
